Landscape Inspiration & Ideas

The following board shows my ideas and approach to my landscape. I decided to this board in order to help me understand paths and the use of green spaces in landscaping. I also wanted to see the important connection that exists between the structure and its surroundings. Since I am doing rectilinear forms this example helps me create new ideas and patterns for my project.

  1. Hello Jose.
I'm glad you made this little research to help you with the landscaping.
Although I haven't been commenting on your blog for quite some time now (I've had some busy weeks) I have been reading all your posts. And I was concerned with the landscaping you posted in your midterm presentation. It was lackluster and seemed badly thought out to be honest. I guess you were not in one of your best days and had to take a short cut. I get it. I've been there myself...
Anyway this research is the best way to redeem yourself and pick up your game again (regarding landscaping, the rest is fine, don't worry). The examples you present seem to go along well with your building (as it is now). In my opinion you have to look out for some simple things: routes (people usually pick the shortest one), focal points (buildings, vistas, etc), area size (your examples are a lot bigger), social interaction (places that promote it), diversity (of spaces and elements in spaces, be it trees and plants, pavements, others), outdoor gyms (or the so called informal sports areas).
Great work so far. I'm really excited to see your work improving and i am looking forward to see your performance in the final stretch of the academic year.
    Keep up the good work.

Ps: please send me your email so i can keep sharing thoughts with you and be in touch with after the year terminus. Thank you.

  2. I do enjoy this precedent study, but I am excited to see this in 3d on your site as there is elevation changes and a very exciting edge - the water! I hope this week in class we will be able to see your building integrated into the site and the form.
